Description:SQL Server Data Base Administrator (DBA)
Duties:This position is responsible for providing technical support for the database environment including daily management, performance tuning, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, database security, capacity assessment, system architecture, training and general technical knowledge transfer to IT staff, assessment and implementation of new technologies, and providing IT with long term perspective on the relationship of database technology to the business opportunities facing the company. This position also requires administration of SSRS across multiple systems (primarily Great Plains) so experience with SSRS is required.
This position also requires basic Windows administration, application administration, and other peripheral software administration. Oracle DBA experience is not required, but the SQL Server DBA will be expected to cross train with the Oracle DBA so that both are proficient in the technologies. The DBA is expected to provide leadership during the development of production applications including working with applications, technical support and operations during the design, development and implementation of applications and to work with others in IT to build the logical database area, provide technical guidance during all phases of the development process.
Qualifications:Education and Experience:
-BS Degree; preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar field of study
-4 to 5 years IT operational experience with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
-2 to 3 years Microsoft SQL Server database administration experience
-SQL Server 2005 and 2008 experience desired; 2012 a plus
-SSRS experience
-Oracle database experience a plus
-Experience with financial applications, Great Plains, Viewpoint or SAP a plus
-Linux experience is desired, but not required
